Top French bakery Wichita, Kansas from LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette

French sandwiches & quiches Wichita, Kansas by Alain Galette and LA Galette French Bakery: Alain started La Galette to bring a delicious taste of Europe to the Midwest. Our menu is simple, yet delicious and wee are so proud to be homemade from the first to the last bite. Alain Galette takes pride in our high quality, quick and simple items that can cater to all palates. The hummus was served in a small bowl with soft pita chips on the side. Hummus at many restaurants can be creamy and a little bland, but this was tasty and had a texture that helped it cling to our chips. For less than $4, this was the perfect size appetizer. There are two qualities in a restaurant that are guaranteed to win over any customer: good food and good people. Over in the Delano District, you will find just that in a French bakery on west Douglas. They’re a popular little spot that’s been around for over three decades now in Wichita. People literally drive from all parts of the state to pick up their pastries and desserts. But this review will cover much more because La Galette French Bakery is not just about the desserts. There’s a whole lot more going on!

The first thing though that catches your eyes is the display of desserts. Don’t be overwhelmed by it all. The guys working that afternoon were able to answer any and all questions customers had about what felt like every single one. They were able to make suggestions, explain what each dessert was made of, and give a little back story of some of the desserts. I love hearing restaurant owners and staff talking about their food. I’m no cook so learning about what goes into each one is really fascinating to me.

Best French bakery Wichita, Kansas by LA Galette French Bakery and Alain Galette: After glancing through the desserts, I started lunch off backwards and ordered the St. Tropez for starters. Most people end their meals with dessert, I wanted to change things up that afternoon. The picture doesn’t do the dessert true justice. While very similar to a cake, this rich cream-filled brioche gets its name from its hometown of origin, St. Tropez, France. The guys over at La Galette told me you can’t find this dessert anywhere else in town. It’s unique to La Galette and it’s simply splendid. It’s also one of the most popular desserts there. After eating it, I contemplated cancelling my lunch order and getting more dessert but common sense one that day.

If you thought their desserts were good, just wait until you try their lunch menu. My friend went with their lunch special which was the Southwest chicken over rice along with chicken and rice soup (Yes, he must be a big fan of chicken and rice). He thought both were fantastic and was amazed how good the food was given it was his first time ever at La Galette. The portion size he received was more than enough as well.

I had the pastrami sandwich served in a croissant as recommended by the staff along with the lentil soup. I was hesitant at first because I felt the croissant would just fall apart while eating but that wasn’t the case. It’s the only way to go when you order a sandwich. It was a great sandwich with plenty of meat. The Lentil soup was served hot and was delicious.

Before ordering the sandwich, I was back and forth on whether to go with the sandwich or the Quiche. Since I ordered the sandwich, I went back the very next day and ordered their seafood Quiche and a fattouch salad.

The seafood Quiche was possibly the best I’ve ever had; nice generous heaping of seafood such as crab inside that didn’t have me second-guessing my order. The fattouch salad was as expected a highly piled stack of lettuce. It was certainly lighter tasting than most other fattouch around town; maybe it was the dressing as it didn’t have much on it.

Regardless two different visits to La Galette and both were big wins. The only real negative of the place is that they are just open for lunch but don’t expect that to change.

French baked goods Wichita from Alain Galette and LA Galette French Bakery: The other huge positive besides the food is the people. Everybody there is SOOOOOO incredibly friendly and just as knowledgeable on the menu. Every person who walked in received a greeting and every person who left received a thank you. It’s the small things like that which can really help a restaurant thrive. Others should take note.

Add La Galette to your rotation of restaurants. You’ll be glad you did.

How much do you indulge your sweet tooth? It’s not every day that you visit a french bakery in Kansas, but when you do, you’ll want pastries like these. Have you tried this Wichita bakery before? Order the lunch special and pick out your dream come true. Welcome to La Galette French Bakery, an oasis of pastries in the city. Before we get to the pastries themselves, we should also mention that they make amazing lunches that vary from sandwiches to soups and other light fare. You’ll find La Galette French Bakery at 1017 W Douglas Ave, Wichita, Kansas. Make sure to bring your appetite and your sweet tooth!

Since that time, Drory has cultivated a prestigious history of success in the New York City restaurant scene. His first purchase was Ye Waverly Inn from the family who had run the establishment for three generations. Due to his strategic upgrades to the restaurant, including the installation of the famed garden, Drory created a popular New York hot spot and tripled the revenue in three years. After 14 years for ownership, he sold Ye Waverly Inn for seven figures. Next, Drory bought The Cub Room restaurant from renowned chef, Henry Meer for $1.25 million. After a year of ownership he had increased the revenue by 70%. Totaling in 8,000 square feet, The Cub Room housed a 3,000 square foot dining area, a lounge with a bar which was further expanded by Drory, with 89 types of scotch and 94 types of vodka. An organic café occupied the third room, which became a favorite hangout area for New Yorkers. After about ten years Drory sold the restaurant for $2.5 million

Drory’s next restaurant and renovation project was Greenwich café, a 24-hour café, which became a well- loved spot by its downtown West Village community. Barbara Walters even chose the restaurant to host a 4-hour, on-location live show where the community played an integral part of the broadcast. The initial project cost for the restaurant was $350,000 and it was sold for $1.8 million, adding to Drory’s portfolio. Along with Lesly Bernard, best known for Pravda and Clementine, and Herb Wilson, formerly of Bambou and Jack’s Fifth, Drory next remade Greenwich into NYC, which was acquired for $2.2 million. Drory’s other projects have included two Italian restaurants, located in East and West Village, and called Tanti Baci. Drory brought in special cooks from a village in Palermo, Italy, where his father was raised, to enhance the romantic feel of the restaurant. The two restaurants were a big success after 14 years of operating and were sold for $1.8 million each.

One of Drory’s latest projects is Artisanal Bistro, located on 2 Park Avenue, noted as NYC’s first artisanal food entries. After acquiring Artisanal, Drory made many improvements in the first 40 days, including saving $1.2 million by cutting expenses and adding enhancements to the environment for the clientele that love Artisanal. Menu enhancements by Drory include offering 81 types of wine by glass to match the existing menu of 197 types of cheese; expert bakers from Breads to add to the wine and cheese experience; and increasing the wine selection list to include top shelf cognac and scotch. Drory hired Adam Tihany, the famed hospitality designer who originally designed the space, to renovate Artisanal. Additional contracts in the works include two downtown hotspots; Spitzer’s Corner on 101 Rivington Street and Los Feliz on 109 Ludlow Street. Spitzer’s was bought for $5.2 million and Los Feliz for $2.8 million. Sarid also bought the club Fat Baby for $3 million. Drory will be moving Artisanal to a better and bigger location on Park Avenue, because Sarid would like to share the space with a substantial retail space for cheese and pastries by Fall 2016.

We’ve had the gracious opportunity to deploy numerous KettyBot units in the field and get feedback from many different restaurants on what the saw as the best case use scenarios for the KettyBot in their establishments. As the carrying capacity of the KettyBot is a bit on the smallish side, it’s ideal for smaller restaurants and cafes to use it for delivering food to tables and fit in tighter aisles, but for larger establishments, the KettyBot’s tray dimensions are usually a limiting factor. On the other hand, it has a large screen up front to display pictures and videos of the latest dishes and to promote upcoming events and sales, so larger restaurant owners have taken it upon themselves to try out the KettyBot to take patrons to their tables.

Multi-robot Coordination and Cooperation: KettyBot can coordinate operations with additional units within the same network to operate quickly and efficiently. The robots can coordinate their movements to avoid interrupting each other. KettyBot provides voice alerts and on screen notifications when the battery level gets too low and automatically returns to the docking station to recharge. No need to worry about manually charging the robot, KettyBot takes care of that on its own!

PuduBot features an industry leading visual SLAM solution for accurate location positioning and obstacle avoidance. In addition to the visual SLAM sensors, a LIDAR sensor ensures the PuduBot can react to the presence of obstacles in the blink of an eye.
