If your cat gets carsick anyway, ask someone else to drive while you sit in back with them – this will help minimize any vomiting while driving! Bring your cat’s favorite blanket or toy. If there’s something that comforts your cat, bring it along. This can make all the difference in how your cat responds during the visit. If you don’t know what your cat’s favorite item is, ask around at home — someone will know! So, when it comes to giving your cat a stress-free experience at the vet, make sure you prepare them beforehand with these ten tips. This way you can relax knowing that your cat will be less stressed and more comfortable while at the doctor’s office. Discover even more information on cat harnesses and leashes.

Libraries. Many libraries welcome leashed pets — some even have special programs and reading sessions geared toward kids and their pets! Just ask at the reference desk if you’re not sure about the policy at your local library. Cats love to read. Take your cat to the library so they can pick out their next great adventure. And if you don’t have a library card of your own, they can probably help with that too. Pet stores. Many locally owned pet supply stores welcome leashed pets inside their stores. You can spend hours browsing the aisles with your kitty. Pet stores are great because they provide a safe environment where your cat can roam around without worrying about other animals or humans bothering them. Just make sure you bring a properly fitting harness for your cat to wear.

Provide indoor and outdoor shelter from the sun: Put up a tent or some shade cloth to provide shelter from the sun in your yard. This will give your cat somewhere cool to relax out of the sun. Bear in mind not to leave your cat outside unattended in hot weather as they can quickly become dehydrated or suffer heatstroke. So there you have it, a summer full of fun activities with your cat. All you have to do is choose a few activities that best suit your cat based on their personality and interests, and you’re all set for a wonderful season of fun with your kitty.

Practice walking indoors: The best way to acclimate your cat to a leash and harness is to practice inside, in a safe environment. Before you head out, consider practicing walking your cat indoors on a harness and leash first to help them get used to wearing one and walking with it. A cat who has never been walked on a leash will need time to get used to the idea. The key to success is patience and consistency. Get your cat used to a carrier: You should get your cat used to their carrier well before you plan on taking your cat anywhere. Put the carrier in a room where your kitty likes to hang out — with treats inside — and let them investigate it at their leisure. Once your cat is comfortable with that, try closing them in for short periods of time. Gradually increase that until you’re able to put them inside for longer periods without them freaking out.

Traveling with a furry friend is one of the best parts about having a pet. But if your cat doesn’t like being in the car, trying to make it through a road trip can be stressful and miserable, both for you and your kitty. Luckily, there are several tactics that many cat parents have used to make their furry friends comfortable on car rides. Here, you’ll learn eight ways you can use to make your next car ride safer and more enjoyable for you and your cat. See more information at missymomo.com.

Top cat harnesses online shopping today? Keep things as familiar as possible. If possible, try not to change anything about your regular routine before going to the vet so that your cat doesn’t get confused by new smells and sounds. For example, if you normally take your cat out on leash walks every day but don’t do so on days when you have an appointment at the veterinary clinic, then this could cause confusion and stress for your feline friend when they see all those leashes hanging up in waiting areas at clinics. Find out if your vet has an exam room that’s separate from the waiting room. If so, ask them to use it for your cat’s visit. That way there won’t be any other animals in your cat’s line of sight when they come in. Find additional info at cat apparel.

Malls. If you want to give your cat a taste of the outdoors while keeping them safe and secure, head to the mall. Some malls allow pet owners to take their leashed pets inside to do their shopping. Call ahead before bringing your cat in just to make sure it’s OK with management and other shoppers. The mall is a great place to bring your cat because it offers large open spaces. You can even get your cat their own little shopping cart.

Plan a getaway: Just because you have a cat doesn’t mean you have to stay home for the summer. Cats are surprisingly portable, as long as you’re careful about their transition to a strange new place. You can take trips with your cat by car, train and even plane — of course, it depends on how far your destination is, which transport options are available and how comfortable your cat is with travel. Prepare for the trip by acclimating your cat to a carrier. It will make getting them into the carrier easier and get them used to being in a moving vehicle, whether that’s a car or an airplane. Cats will drink more water when it’s hot out to help them cool off. Refill your cat’s water bowl regularly with clean filtered water to make sure they stay hydrated. If you have multiple cats, make sure that there is enough space around the water bowl for them all to drink freely and comfortably.

Choose a destination wisely: Most cities have pet-friendly places that allow cats, like restaurants with outdoor seating or shops with open-air sidewalks. Plan ahead by checking with local establishments about their policies before you head out with your cat for the day. Make sure your cat stays up-to-date on vaccinations: If you want to take your cat to indoor places, make sure they’re vaccinated against diseases such as rabies and feline leukemia. They should be protected against other diseases as well. While it’s difficult to predict every situation in which exposure might occur, it’s best to protect your kitty against as many diseases as possible.

Keep your cat cool: Cats can overheat quickly in warm weather conditions. If possible, try to avoid taking them places during the hottest part of the day and make sure there is plenty of air circulating inside the vehicle, so they don’t get too hot while traveling with you! Keep your kitty’s carrier out of direct sunlight and well away from any heat sources like open windows or vents in the car. Keep an eye on your cat’s ears and eyes: Make sure their ears aren’t too hot or covered by hair, and check their eyes frequently to make sure they don’t have discharge or irritation that could indicate an ear infection or eye infection. Also, look out for signs of stress: panting, drooling, being overly vocal, or agitated. If they start acting sick while you’re driving, pull over immediately and let them get some fresh air! We are not a large commercial operation, just serious dog lovers who have fallen in love with this special breed. Find extra details on Arizona Bernedoodles. You have decided to treat your Bernedoodle with food from the table as a reward, and you know that there are some foods designer dogs just cannot tolerate or that could cause serious problems. What foods should you never feed your dog?

Avoid this dog food : Most dogs do not have the enzymes needed to break down lactose (sugars in dairy) that humans have. While minimal quantities of dairy are usually tolerable (bits of cheese or milk), excessive dairy intake can create digestive issues like terrible gas, loose stools, and even diarrhea. It is probably best to avoid milk knowing the propensity of Poodles to have contrarian digestive systems (unless you just like cleaning loose stools from your carpets).

Pet amenity gift pack online shopping with PETS2GO! International, Inc by Angelina Cortez

Pets and Animals

Angelina Cortez launches PETS2GO! and the pet amenity gift pack? A Loving Pet Owner And Busy Professional ‘On the Go’ Since then, Angelina has welcomed many cats into her own family. Being a frequent traveler meant Angelina often had to make the tough decision whether to bring her furry friends along or leave them at home. She always opted to bring them, however, she quickly found that traveling with pets could be quite an ordeal. Bulky pet carriers were expensive and difficult to manage at the airport, and they didn’t provide a place for her cats to do their business. After spending countless hours in airport bathrooms and cleaning up messes from her own cats along with assisting others in similar predicaments. So Angelina knew she had to do something. And the inspiration for Kitty2GO! was born.

Angelina Cortez is the founder and leader of the PETS2GO! brand, she was raised with a profound respect and love for cats, largely due to the influence of her great-grandmother Beryl (Batson) King, who was often referred to as the “Patron Saint of Cats for Corona Queens.” Beryl gained the moniker in Corona Queens, where she owned a three-family house that she bought at the time she and her husband came to live in the States from Cuba and Barbados. Beryl took it upon herself to look after the neighborhood cats, and had on average 16 cats living in & out of the house at any given time. Her love for cats made a profound impression on Angelina, who helped care for them whenever she was with her great-grandmother.

Angelina Cortez about dogs food tips and tricks: Overfeeding your dog peas can be dangerous. They cannot handle the same amount of peas that a human may eat. Additionally, there are some conditions that may arise from eating too many peas, especially if the overfeeding of peas is consistent. Feeding your dog a few peas is not going to hurt. However, too many peas can be harmful to your pet. This is because peas contain purines, which is a naturally occurring chemical compound. Purines create uric acid, which is filtered through the kidneys. Too much uric acid can cause issues with the kidneys such as kidney stones or other conditions. For this reason, you should avoid feeding your dog any peas if it has any pre-existing problems with its kidneys or kidney disease.

Angelina Cortez on dogs training tips and tricks: For small dogs, Havanese are exceptionally healthy. They live for up to 16 years and never lose their cuddly, happy energy. They don’t have any serious respiratory problems, they don’t have heart issues, And I don’t have a lot of the other serious health conditions that can plague small dogs. That said, Havanese can still suffer from some fairly common health issues. While most of these issues are fixable, if left untreated they can become severe. If you ever suspect your Havanese is having problems with their health, the first thing you should do is get off The Internet and go to the vet.

Comprehensive pitbull beagle mix guides 2022

Pets and Animals

Excellent pitbull beagle mix guides right now? These dogs don’t usually have consistent characteristics as a well-raised purebred dog. And its life expectancy can vary a lot, as well as its temperament. Which makes many of its drawbacks and ultimately is valued less than purebred dogs. Crossbreed/Designer dogs are born from two or more known and recognized purebred dogs. They are not breeds themselves necessarily or can’t effectively breed and pass the same gene structure as themselves to be called a proper breed. See extra details at beagle pitbull mix.

As Moby once said, “Dogs have boundless enthusiasm but no sense of shame. I should have a dog as a life coach.” So, if dogs were our life coach, what are some of the things we could learn from them that would help us lead a fuller life? Do you think dogs are ever running through their endless to-do lists in their heads? Think they’re overwhelmed with all of the things they have to do that day or even that week? That they keep replaying that simple comment they made to a friend about their new outfit that wasn’t overly flattering on them? Nope. Most times, dogs are only overwhelmed when there are too many new smells at one time. And even then, the only thing they’re thinking about, is the now.

Much like people, different pets have different tastes. If your animal loves the outdoors regardless of the weather, the fresh air and some exercise are always welcome. Bonus treat for snow lovers is to be able to play in the snow. Dogs tend to be curious and interested in snow, its something different and unique for them to dive into, play in, and it gets their important olfactory senses some good practice in the cooler weather. Taking dogs out for walks specifically is not only good for their overall health, it helps them expand their energy. If not done, the energy can be redirected in less than desirable ways, and that is certainly not the tone or behavior owners want, especially around the holiday season.

If the dog is experiencing shaking or is trembling a lot, it is unlikely due to it being cold. Dog’s bodies are well equipped to handle various temperature levels, but persistent trembling can be a sign of kidney issues, pancreatitis, or even poisoning. Dogs get into things they shouldn’t frequently, and like the experiment with what they eat. Of course, consumption of compost, chocolate, or any number of other toxins to a dog’s body could produce severe muscle spasms. Don’t shrug these off. If these are noticed, the dog really needs to be seen by a vet.

Some dogs, especially those who are lacking proper canine-social training, behave rudely to other dogs, like an overly aggressive child who thinks their shoving and hitting is just playful behavior. Much like many parents would look at their child being aggressive and think they are just being friendly, aggressive, and rude behavior by dogs is typically due to perceiving it as excitement and friendliness. All this does is enable the dog to continue behavior poorly and promote this type of behavior in the future. Owners need to recognize that if their dog is rude to another, the other dog will react aggressively. Many owners wrongly interpret this as the other dog being needlessly aggressive, when it is actually their own pup that’s the problem. Many adult dogs will be patient with puppies when their antics get aggressive, but they put up with this behavior from an adult dog a lot less frequently.

The most significant advantage of having A beagle Pitbull mix is that it has the temperament and the supreme affectionate nature of these two dogs. Kids, especially girls, love these bundles of happiness. They are very compatible with most families, which is the driving factor for their popularity. Before we delve into what a pit-bull and Beagle mix is. We need to learn what are dog mixes and how are their existence as mix-breeds affect their breed status. High quality havanese dogs travelling guides today

Havanese dogs diet tips and tricks today? For small dogs, Havanese are exceptionally healthy.

Peas are a source of minerals such as iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium; they are also chock full of vitamins such as A, K, and B vitamins. They are also rich in protein and fibre, so are often included in commercial dog food. Lutein is also found in peas– lutein is an antioxidant that is good for heart, eye, and skin health. While dogs don’t need fruits and vegetables (like Jackfruit or Edamame) in their daily diet as humans do, peas can be used as the occasional snack or low-calorie treat option for your pet.

When training your Havanese, keep in mind that dogs don’t have the same ability to focus as we do. Your dog isn’t about to sit down and study for a test for six hours. A puppy has an even shorter attention span, and so it is recommended to train them only for one or two minutes at a time, maybe three or four times a day. For an adult, you can try twenty-minute training sessions. Are Havanese Dogs Easy to Potty Train? This falls into the same house as whether Havanese are easy to train. The answer is yes. You can train your Havanese to go use the toilet in the right place. However, this is a trickier job than training your pup not to dig holes in your carpet. Find more information on Gateway Havanese. You can also leave them in the crate while you are out of the house, or at night. It may take a couple of weeks to get to this point, but it might also happen really quick. Most of the dogs we have worked with actually come to really enjoy their crate and think of it as their safe place. When we take Nessie on the plane with us in the crate she loves it because she knows she is going somewhere. Over night crating can be a struggle to get to without whining. You can always just leave them there and they will eventually get over it. We do recommend trying longer periods first, because you want them to not hate being in the crate.

Sowbread isn’t super popular amongst casual gardeners, but it is widely available at home improvement stores and flower shops. If your dog gets a hold of sowbread leaves or tries to eat the entire planet, the result will be drooling, diarrhea, an abnormal heartbeat, seizures, and in very serious cases, death. The ZZ plant isn’t as dangerous as some of the others on our list, but it can still cause diarrhea and vomiting, which is very uncomfortable for your dog. The ZZ plant isn’t even that appealing, so it’s best to just leave it out of the equation altogether.

Gateway Havanese is committed to getting the very best information about Havanese breeders and puppies. Below you will find two maps, one for the USA and one for Canada. If you roll the mouse over the area closest to you you will you can access the page that lists the breeders, associations and rescues in that area. We are constantly building the map out, so come back if your state isn’t covered just yet. Gateway Havanese was born out of a love for Havanese dogs, and a desire to share the best information we could find about them and dogs in general. Find extra details on Gateway Havanese.

Should You Give Your Horse Salt or an Electrolyte Supplement? So your horse has been working or sweating hard and needs additional electrolytes. Should you give salt or an electrolyte supplement? Yes! Horses need salt daily and occasionally an electrolyte supplement. Salt is a necessary part of a horse’s everyday diet and should always be available. Ensure your horse receives adequate salt by offering a quality free-choice mineral salt lick like Redmond Rock or by adding Redmond Rock Crushed loose mineral salt into feed. Find additional info at horse clay for legs.

Speaking of staying warm, it’s vital to warm up your horse slowly in cold temperatures. Like us, a horse’s muscles, bones, and joints become stiff in cold weather and grow more flexible with gradual activity. So walk your horse a minimum of ten minutes before moving her into a trot, and consider using a half sheet or exercise sheet during warm-up. Your horse will also thank you for warming her bit before fitting it in her mouth. A cold bit is a quick way to start your ride off on the wrong foot. Which leads us to hoof safety.

Redmond Rock and Himalayan rock are both solid, unrefined sea salt rocks. Both are mined deep in the earth and contain electrolytes and a plethora of beneficial trace minerals for horses. Both are natural horse salt licks and better options than a manmade pressed block. So is Redmond Rock salt a better choice than a Himalayan rock? Yes, we think so! Here’s why: 100% of Redmond sea salt rock is mined from our Jurassic Period mineral deposit in Central Utah and packaged right here in the USA. Redmond Rock contains around 93% salt and 7% natural mineral content compared to 3% mineral content of most Pakistani-mined Himalayan rock.

Bring “home water.” If you can, bring two five-gallon containers of water from home. This helps your horse transition gradually to “away water” and lessens the likelihood she’ll be put off by unfamiliar smells or tastes. Add moisture to feed. Consider soaking your horse’s hay to aid in hydration, and offer a wet bran mash or beet pulp once or twice a day. Peak your horse’s interest. Toss a few apple pieces or carrots into your horse’s water bucket to tempt her nose into the bucket to take a sip. Stress. The rigors of hauling, leaving paddock pals, dealing with a disrupted schedule, and a new environment can all create anxiety that affects a horse’s desire to drink. Pets and Animals

High quality dog harness online shopping? Many dog owners encounter an interesting and perplexing problem when walking their dogs on a leash. They likely know their four-legged furry buddy to be the kindest, gentlest soul on the planet when with their owners, being great with kids, other animals in the home, and very calm and friendly when meeting new people. That is why it is so surprising when their dogs react aggressively towards other dogs during walks on a leash when another dog is in sight. The most interesting thing is that if walking around people or even other dogs when unleashed, the same dog is perfectly docile or playful. This phenomenon is actually quite common, even common enough to be monikered “leash aggression.”

When dogs hurt, they communicate it in different ways. Here are just some of the signs to take a mental note to indicate that the dog is hurting. The expression of “licking their wounds” actually comes from the widely noticed habit of animals to lick the area that causes them pain. When a dog is hurting, instinctually they constantly lick the area that’s bothering them. If the wound is external, it can be visible, but when the pain is coming from inside their bodies, they are still drawn to lick the area to try to soothe it away. Dogs will also lick their paws, a method of soothing themselves, and if they are bothered by their eyes, they will lick the paws, and then rub their eyes with them.

If every family member gets a stocking hung on the mantle, there is no reason to exclude certain ones. Many owners make it a point to have a stocking hunt for their pets too, filling it with new toys, yummy treats, and any other pet friendly products that can be gifted to your family’s animal for the holidays. This will give them delicious treats and new activities to enjoy for the upcoming year, while being treated as a gift receiving family members. For their part, they will continue to reward you with the gift of love. Families often take holiday photos together with their pets. If it’s going to be a family photo, it’s only right that all members are included. Some owners go beyond that, and take holiday themed photos specifically for their pets. Perhaps it is a photo of your animal in a restful slumber under your gorgeously decorated tree or even among a set of beautifully wrapped presents. In either case, a photo exclusive to your pet can make for a great lasting memory capture that can join your photo albums and computer wallpapers for you to enjoy. A walk. A game of tug-of-war. A game of ball. A hike. A bike ride. Dogs are up for anything that gets their body moving and their energy out. Even as they begin to slow down as age creeps up on them, they’re still young at heart and will never, ever turn down a stroll with their favorite pal. As with being free with your excitement, exercise releases those oh-so-awesome endorphins that make us feel great from the inside out. It’s been said that people who work out even once a week or for as little as 10 minutes a day tend to be more cheerful than those who never exercise. And your doggo also has your back here — there’s no way they’re letting you exercise for that small amount of time!

Every venture has an origin, and PetPonia is no different. Back in 2015, I encountered and fell in love with a beautiful pup in a local shelter. She was all sorts of ‘pawesome’ and stole my heart from the get-go! Her unconditional love was my driving inspiration to start helping rescue dogs and rescue operations as much as I could. In my efforts to assist, PetPonia was born. PetPonia’s mission has, from its very onset, been to offer dog owners high-quality products for their beloved four-legged counterparts, while promoting the adoption of rescue dogs and assisting animal organizations. How much help we can offer these great efforts is unlimited, especially with your help! While your pup enjoys the products you purchased from us, you will know that every purchase made is helping a rescue dog find their forever home. Discover extra details at https://petponia.com/.

Best freshwater fish care guides

Pets and Animals

Fish pets tank mates guides? Guppies are small, colorful, freshwater fishes that are very low maintenance. They are so tough that they can survive for a week without eating, but of course, this is not advisable. If you’re not planning to breed them, don’t combine male and female Guppies in one tank or you’ll end up with a handful of baby Guppies in no time. The Kuhli Loach is a tiny, eel-shaped fish that is friendly towards other fishes. They have a lifespan of 10 years, so be prepared to take care of them long-term. They grow to be 4 inches long, and they’re more active at night. Some experience is needed before caring for this fish because their lack of scales makes them susceptible to diseases.

Return all the old clean decorations. If necessary, add more gravel or new decorations. Before adding new tap water to the aquarium, please treat it with a special conditioner. Everyone knows that tap water contains a lot of impurities such as chlorine, ammonia, and heavy metal salts. This water will harm the fish, so water conditioners have been developed that purify the water from harmful substances. Mix old and new treated water in the aquarium and measure its temperature. Control that the water remains the same temperature; otherwise, your fish will die. If necessary, dilute it with treated freshwater, or wait for the water to heat up and become room temperature if its temperature is lower or higher than the required level. Do not pour too much water into the aquarium; there must be space for air to saturate the water with oxygen. Carefully place the fish back. To make the fish experience less shock, you can put them in a plastic container with old water and put it in the aquarium; then, it will be easier for the fish to get used to slightly different water temperatures.

There is the aesthetic appeal of keeping a tropical fish tank in your home. You get to design and decorate your own tank and little ecosystem. Keeping a tropical fish tank is an educational learning experience. You’ll learn all about fish biology and the ecosystem that fish live in. Tropical fish don’t eat much and don’t require a lot of money after you set up the aquarium and buy the fish. A small dog or cat will eat about $150 in food a year whereas fish should cost you about $25 a year to feed. Tropical fish are good pets for kids in teaching responsibility at a much reduced cost than it would be to take care of a dog or cat. Keeping tropical fish is a relaxing and enjoyable hobby. Tropical fish can provide you the satisfaction of taking care of a pet without stressing you out over concerns that other pets require. You can leave tropical fish alone during the day, at night, on weekends, or on short trips. Your tropical fish will (usually!) stay put inside the tank where you left them. You don’t have to walk them, wash them, groom them, brush them, take them in for check-ups, clean up after them (or keep your slippers away from them). Find even more info at this website.

Reef aquarium bulbs should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. That means if you have 2 MH bulbs, you can replace one in January, the other in March, and switch every 3 months. This will let you get 6 months out of each bulb and keep your light spectrum more consistent. If you have a 6 bulb T5 fixture, you can replace 1 bulb every month, allowing you to keep your light intensity consistent yet replacing each bulb every 6 months with minimal stress on the coral. For optimal success in the reef aquarium hobby, you should create and stick to a regular reef aquarium maintenance schedule, or reef aquarium maintenance checklist. In order to help you achieve success in this hobby, I have created one for you that you may print and hang near your aquarium as a reminder of when you need to perform your aquarium maintenance. Just right-click the image below and click save. You can then print it from your computer.

Reptile pet habitat tricks

Pets and Animals

Reptile pet enclosures guides? Here’s a large pet tortoise species that is best reserved for experienced herpetology fans. Reaching lengths of up to two feet, the Burmese mountain tortoise is a behemoth! They can weigh up to 100 pounds in captivity. In the wild, these tortoises are found throughout Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sumatra. Wild specimens are protected. However, captive-bred tortoises are readily available in many countries. For the most part, Burmese mountain tortoises aren’t difficult to care for. They are easy-going and will feed on whatever they can get. However, their large size does present a unique challenge for owners! If you have the room, you can keep Burmese mountain tortoises inside. But, they will require a full room!. As a result, most will create secure outdoor enclosures. One cool thing about this species is that they can stay in groups or pairs. In a large outdoor pen, you can house several tortoises together without experiencing too many issues.

Fortunately, many pet snakes will accept dead prey. If yours does, consider keeping a separate small freezer for what are delicately called “prey items”. Dead mice and rats of various ages can be purchased in frozen packages through pet supply stores and directly from people who breed “feeder” mice. For health reasons, it is best to keep your snake’s dinner separately from your own foods. Depending on the snake, she might scarf down three or four at one meal, or she might only eat one. You’ll need to keep half a dozen on hand, in any case. Try starting with prey items that are about the same size around the middle as your snake is. If your snake won’t touch dead prey items, try wiggling the meal a bit, to make it move. Also, try putting a piece of fabric over the tank as a “privacy curtain”. Sometimes one or both of those will do the trick. If that fails, you might need to feed your snake live prey. This is more complicated, and not for the faint of heart. You’ll need to watch the snake hunting and killing the larger prey, because it is dangerous to the snake to leave an adult rodent alone with her. The panicked creature could injure the snake with its claws and teeth.

You’re not going to need a very large enclosure for your Mexican alligator lizard, but you should not go any smaller than 24 by 24 by 36 inches. If you have room, a larger enclosure would certainly be fine. Just remember to focus on the height of the enclosure rather than its length. Because the living space of a Mexican alligator lizard requires plenty of ventilation, glass enclosures shouldn’t be used. Instead, go for a screened living space. It will look nice, and you will have plenty of cross ventilation. Expert Tip: No matter what size of an enclosure you use, make sure that it has a tight fitting lid. These reptiles can be quite the escape artists, so be careful! With a little advanced planning and some creativity, you can design a living space for your lizard that’s the perfect combination of form and function. As long as you have the basic elements and plenty of enhancements, you can make an enclosure that is pleasing to both you and your Mexican alligator lizard. The first thing you’ll need to do is to decide on a substrate. Acceptable substrates include paper towels, newspaper, sphagnum moss or peat moss. See even more details at reptile pet habitat guides.

Humidity should be maintained between 35-75% to provide as natural as possible an environment for your bluetongue — this can be achieved by placing a shallow dish of water in the enclosure. Feed your adult bluetongue every two days in warm weather, in colder weather every three days. Remember — if the enclosure temperature is not right your bluetongue may refuse to eat. Bluetongues are omnivores and should be offered a variety of foods such as insects e.g. crickets, worms, snails and slugs. They will eat a range of chopped fruits and vegetables including dandelion, milk thistle, watercress, banana, apple, pawpaw, pear, green beans, carrots, alfafa sprouts, parsley and tomato. In addition, small amounts of moistened dog kibble and canned dog food may be given occasionally. Add a calcium supplement to the food once a week.
