Positive Transition Services’ mission is to support, advocate, and connect those in need with supportive services that increases self-sufficiency and lifelong sustainability. We provide an array of comprehensive, holistic services to disabled veterans, individuals with mental and/or behavioral challenges, physical disabilities, chronically homeless, and those returning from incarceration.

Fulton County, Georgia has the highest rate of homelessness in the UnitedStates. In 2018, there was an average of 3,298 homeless individuals inFulton County per night. According to the NLCHP, a lack of affordablehousing is the primary cause of homelessness, with 1/8th of the nation’ssupply of low-income housing being permanently lost since 2001.Additionally, HUD has seen its budget slashed by over 50% in recentdecades, leading to a loss of 10,000 units of subsidized low-income housingeach year. Organizations like Positive Transition Services are fighting toend homelessness by maximizing resources and minimizing gaps byensuring that individuals can transition into lives that are meaningful andpositive through affordable housing and supportive services includingtreatment and job placement.

Our #1 goal is to ensure we transition lives that are meaningful and positive through affordable housing and supportive services. Based in Fulton, Georgia, Positive Transition Services, Inc. was founded in 2013 by Founder andExecutive Director Bartola Anderson. Ms. Anderson started this organization in order to create anon-profit organization geared towards ending homelessness by offering affordable housingplacement, supportive services, empowerment, and educational initiatives. With a background ingovernment and education, Ms. Anderson has spent her career working with under-resourcedcommunities and is now working to end homelessness and empower lives within her community.

PTS ensures every resident receives a thorough Mental Health,Substance Abuse, and Nursing Assessment within 48 hours ofenrollment to address barriers associated barriers that preventtransitioning into the community. We continue to build strongrelationships with our local clinicians and primary care doctorsin the community. Every resident is offered job readiness training, full timeemployment with, a great pay and benefits and/or jobcertification training in fields like construction, CDL, InformationTechnology, Welding and so much more. We are able tosuccessfully accomplish this task through priceless partnershipswith employers in the community.

Positive Transition Services Intern Spotlight: What do you expect to gain from this internship? My hopes are that I will gain the knowledge necessary to make me a proficient socialworker capable of handling even the most complex cases as well as serving people in away that speaks to the true nature of what social work is. Favorite part about working with PTS? My favorite part so far has been the relationships that I’ve developed during my time here.I believe firmly that good relationships are the foundation of successful outcomes. Recently, we had an appreciation luncheon for theamazing staff at Shamrock Gardens Apartments inhonor of their awesome efforts in assuring that PTSruns smoothly.This small token of appreciation could never amountto the over and above exemplary service we receiveon a daily basis.Our success as an organization is in part with support from organizations like ShamrockGardens.They are truly PTS family and we appreciate all they do!
